My main style of Thai massage is an intuitive approach aimed at opening the energetic channels of the body through very precise tracing of anatomy (physical and energetic) lines and deep focused pressure point therapy. Combined with strategic stretching, my hope during therapy is to offer the body a wider range of experience in sensation and mobility. This style of therapy is powerful and deep and allows for therapeutic pain relief. The road to pain reduction might be slightly bumpy, but with proper awareness and communication with my clients, together we are able to break through the limiting pain that can be impairing for some people.
Whether aimed at recovering functionality in the body or at easing the mind from the turbulence of a chaotic world, this style of therapy is beneficial on all levels of wellbeing. Nuad Boran incorporates meditation, relaxation, therapeutic soft tissue bodywork, joint mobilization, mantra, and at times simply stillness.
The work itself is deep and thorough, during therapy, the whole body will be massaged allowing the energy to naturally return to its proper channels so it may flow with ease. The work can be meditative for both giver and receiver and on a deeper level it may allow the recipient to fully tune into his or her internal processes, thus having a catalytic effect on the entire being from the physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions.
A typical session may last anywhere between 2 and 3 hours of deep massage. The entire work can be completed in one long session or two shorter sessions to allow the receiver to integrate the work.
You may have heard something about energy and quantum physics. Based on studies made on energy, scientists have come to understand Light as energy that sometimes behaves like a particle, and sometimes behaves like a wave. What makes energy change behavior? Being observed. You read that right. When scientists observed the experiment the results were consistently different than when they left the experiment unobserved. Among many scientific conclusions, one that is relevant to us is the effect of “observing” and becoming a participant in an energetic process which unequivocally alters the entire field and makes us co-creators of our reality. We can choose to heal energetically with developed awareness and intention.
I have been practicing Reiki since age 15 and it has been a practice that has guided me to intuitively offer healing through energy work. Though I have studied traditional Mikao Usui Reiki to the level of Master and Universal Unitarian Reiki, I do believe that energy work is an art that develops with practice, trust and intuition and not an academic path laden with certificates and diplomas. I believe we all have the power to harness energy for healing if we set our heart and intention to it.
I offer Reiki as part of the comprehensive healing work I do, frequently including it during massage and healing work. If you would like to receive Reiki, I invite you to book a session and we can explore the realms of energy work!
When we set the space to create a ritual, we are opening the space for ourselves to attune to our inner healer. Intention is the most important factor in any ritual you choose to create for yourself, as this is the guiding light of how you see yourself evolving.
As a special treat, I enjoy co-creating ritual therapy where in the course of 4 or 5 hours together we create an offering, altar, commune with the natural plant world as our allies for healing and delve into deep therapeutic space via massage, breath work, movement, meditation, vibrational and sound therapy, sacred geometry or a combination of tools that best suits the set intention.
